I’m so glad you found me!
For a long time, I’ve been thinking about starting an automotive media site. I fell into the trap of analysis paralysis and thought about this site more than I did actually working on it. Today, that changes!
Let me give you a bit of history about myself. My name is Alex and I’ve been in the automotive industry since 2001. I was part owner of a race shop, owned several automotive forums, owned an automotive eCommerce site and have been in online marketing since AOL came on a CD. I haven’t ever had a blog/media site and that is something I’ve always wanted.
So why misshift?
It sort of just happened. Many years ago, someone on my team found a tool that lets you scan a site and export all broken links. We ran the program on a popular automotive forum, and after a few hours, it came back with lots of broken links and expired domains – and one of them – misshift.com – stood out, so I jumped on it. The name was short, one word, and every automotive enthusiast that has driven a manual transmission has been there.
My goal with this site is to grow it to be an enthusiasts destination and a daily read. I want to have misshift be more than just a content hub. Also, I’ve always liked simple, clean and minimalist designs, and this site will carry that tradition.
I plan to grow misshift.com in many different ways and I’m excited for what’s to come. I will be looking for automotive writers, designers, coders and enthusiasts. Follow me on social, subscribe to my email list, and check for announcements of employment opportunities.
I hope you follow my journey – thanks for reading!
