Akrapovic is well known for their top of the line exhaust systems. Ultra lighweight and beautifully crafted these are considered the best exhaust systems on the market. But the best doesn’t come cheap, and this G87 M2 exhaust coming in at nearly $5300 is proof of that. While louder than a stock G87 M2 exhaust, the Akrapovic is known to be on the quieter side.
Akrapovic has released its BMW M2 (G87) Slip-On Line (Titanium) exhaust system. An available Titanium Short Link Pipe Set is available to enhance the performance exhaust system. To further accentuate the unique carbon exhaust tips – sold separately – two options of carbon fiber rear diffusers are also available. These products can be found through various distributors.
Akrapovič’s high-grade titanium construction was developed in-house and provides this Slip-On Line exhaust system a durable structure and attractive finish, as well as a 32.7% weight savings over stock. Using two valves and two acoustic reflectors, the sound is tailored for a smooth, rich tone when casually cruising, and a deep, sporty growl is heard during spirited driving. An ECU remap is not needed to take advantage of the additional 5.2 hp at 2,800 rpm and 10 lb-ft boost in torque at 2,800 rpm. A separately sold exhaust tip set is mandatory, and two options are available – both constructed of titanium and carbon fiber for reduced weight and a premium appearance. One set is rounded, and the other features Akrapovič’s ground-breaking octagonal shape.
For those looking for further weight savings and customization, Akrapovič has developed rear diffusers crafted using carbon fiber, available in matte or gloss finishes. An optional Sound Kit is also available which allows the driver to actuate the exhaust valves independently from the M2’s driving modes.
